The Dark Knight / Batman movie sets Box Office Debut record

The Dark Knight has set another record…this time it’s for the opening debut numbers.
A firm tracking box office receipt report that Batman movie has earn $18.5 million only from its midnight showing!!! This number doesn’t count the 3am or 6am showings.
The movie also plays at 94 Imax locations and on Thursday Imax has reported that they already have 1600 showings sold out before the movie opened.
The previous record was hold in 2005 by “Star Wars III:the Revenge of the Stith” for $16.9 million.
A quick update, The Dark Knight has break another record! This time for one day box office earning.
1 The Dark Knight WB $66,400,000
2 Spider-Man 3 Sony $59,841,919
3 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest BV $55,830,600
It’s Official now! The Dark Knight has break the all time record for the most Box Office weekend ever. The movie reportedly took in a record $155.34 million. It also break the Imax record for best debut in IMAX large-screen theaters with $6.2 million.
