Humanize Your Car!

Cars

Cars have their own characteristics; similar like humans. They have parts just like us; some are very important parts; some are just there for accessories. Some have gone through a ‘plastic surgery’ process; replaced by used/new parts. Some cars have perfect body paints; some are damaged just like how humans have defects since they were born. Cars broke down if the timing belts are not replaced. Cars will need a regular oil change. Cars need to be washed just like humans.

Imagine you are buying a new car from a dealership. It’s like going to a place for adoption. You are thinking .. I’d like to adopt a car with the best quality that fits me and of course with reasonable and affordable price. The whole process of choosing “your” car is like choosing a new member to be added to your family.

You start thinking about the type of car, size, color, make, model, etc. you’d like to get. All of these factors are also going to affect you when you are choosing a partner for your life. Let’s say you are a guy, you want to find the right wife/girlfriend, then you’ll be looking at every possible factors that could lead you to say “Yes, she is the one.”

type of car: I like to travel and do outdoors activities. I am thinking of buying an SUV/Crossover.
Humanize it! -> She looks like the type that would enjoy going fishing with me.

size: I don’t think my garage will fit a Hummer
.
Humanize it! -> She is really tall, I don’t really like dating with a girl that is so much taller than me. Forget it.”

color: I like white!
Humanize it! -> She has a very fair skin. I like her skin.

make: Which one is the “best”, well-known, and popular make for SUV/Crossover?
Humanize it! -> Well, I think from her parents’ genes, she looks like she’s very smart.

model: I really like the back of the RAV4. It looks really bulky.
Humanize it! -> She has a nice body.

That’s just a few categories; there are many more. If you already have your car, how do you maintain your car? If you do not maintain it very well, she might run out pretty soon … I think that would be another topic altogether.

What’s your type of “car”?

I like a nice looking hybrid sporty car…next year we’ll see a few in the market in limited quantity. It’ll be awhile till they’ll make the price more affordable.
Hmmmm let me rephrase it myself….does that means i’m looking for a woman that’s smart, beautiful, active, and spend money wisely ? ….Limited quantity and expensive means….these women are hard to find?
Hahaha…can’t compare cars with woman cuz cars can be pay by cash, finance or even lease!

I think a car can be more of one’s own personality expression than of one’s match. I would personally use shoes as an analogy. What kind of shoes do you want? Trendy shoes, sporty shoes, rugged shoes? Yet, shoes are still shoes and the still have to be able to protect your feet just as a car still has to be able to transport you.

There is this forbidden triangle in cars:
    1) Utility (this could be performance OR practicality)
    2) Economical
    3) Price

Two can coexist together but not three.

From what you describe, you are going to adore Colin Chapman’s philosophy of “less is more” or “weight is the enemy.” Basically, performance is the ratio of power to the weight. So, you can get a really good performance with a good economy if the car is lightweight. But to produce such cars, it takes a lot of money. Hence, the price is not cheap. Such cars are something along the line of anything from Lotus (Elise, Exige, etc.).

For the balance that you need, depending on your definition of “affordable”, you might be happy with something like Mazda Miata or Porsche Boxster.

wilcherry, of course you cannot compare woman/man exactly but at least I find cars to be similar to humans and it’s somehow interesting enough for me when you start listing all characteristics of your dream car and then apply those characteristics to someone that you are interested in.

bintangkecil, that means you like sporty guys, fast?? hm, and strong/powerful as a man who makes decision. You probably like something like a “Toyota Supra”?

nate, I think that sounds like “Happy Cows come from California”?

nothingness, good is relative. So, i would try to balance all three of them according to my priorities. Some maybe good to you, but not to me.

Similar to humans, you cannot really get a guy/girl who is
    1. relatively ‘cheap’ (not hard to find)
    2. economical (very independent; do not need extra attention/high maintenance or do not spend that much money?)
    3. good performance (good girlfriend/boyfriend)

Can you easily find all of these characteristics in a guy/girl? The answer is yes. Though, of course they cannot be VERY GOOD but they can be somewhat good :)

    It’s all relative.

bintangkecil, just a wild guess! If you want to talk about relativity, that would be one BIG topic to cover.
