Kari Callen shocked America’s Got Talent audiences

“I’ve never had a boyfriend, I’ve never been in a relationship.” Remember Susan Boyle from the Britain Got Talent? This time is not coming from Susan Boyle, it’s Kari Callen.
Kari Callen, 43, a radiology technician from Seattle, was born with a cleft lip and palate sang “Somewhere (A Place for Us)” tonight at the America’s Got Talent show.
Cleft lip (cheiloschisis) and cleft palate (palatoschisis) (colloquially known as harelip), which can also occur together as cleft lip and palate, are variations of a type of clefting congenital deformity caused by abnormal facial development during gestation. Note that harelip is now considered as a derogatory term[citation needed]. A cleft is a fissure or opening—a gap. It is the non-fusion of the body’s natural structures that form before birth.
Kari proves that all you really need is a stage and a dream.
Watch her outstanding performance below:
Title of the song: Somewhere (A Place for Us)
There’s a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us.
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere.
There’s a time for us,
Some day a time for us,
Time together with time to spare,
Time to look, time to care,
Someday!
Somewhere.
We’ll find a new way of living,
We’ll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere.
There’s a place for us,
A time and place for us.
Hold my hand and we’re half way there.
Hold my hand and I’ll take you there
Somehow,
Someday,
Somewhere!

When I heard her voice, I thought of Judy Garland - a little bit of Barbra, and what a heart she has.
I can’t wait to see if she can bring another song alive like she did this one. Good luck Kari Callen
Even your name has a musical tone to it.

What an inspiration. My teenager wants to be a singer/model and has a cleft lip and palate. Nothing should stop her and this woman proves it.

I am shocked she did not make the top 40, bu the former IDOL pick did not either. It seems that the judges have their picks and wanted to thin out the real competition by loading up on some fluff acts to get their favs by (the David Hasselhof Singer, The Kid that can’t Sing but is Cute, and the Grandma who Dances Funny). Who Takes These People Seriously??? I feel sorry for the people who really took the competition seriously,,,It is not fair. It sure was not fair to Kari. I just Loved Her…wanted to fix her up some…giver her some star power too. What a voice. They knew shew and the IDOL girl would clean up, so they cut them early.
