The 2009 Country Music Awards ceremony was held live at the Sommet Center in Nashville on November 11, 2009.

Martina McBride and George performed on “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool” as a tribute to Barbara Mandrell who is announced as a Hall of Famer this year.

Taylor Swift was the big winner, although Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker made major news, too.
