Designer Marc Jacobs was spotted in a beach during a vacation with a Hermes Birkin bag. Hermes bags are really expensive luxurious bags. In the photo above, Marc Jacobs used a Hermes Birkin bag as his beach bag.

The “Birkin” bag is a purse manufactured by leather goods and ready-to-wear manufacturer Hermès. It is named after British-born actress and singer Jane Birkin, a longtime resident of France.

But when you consider the bags which costs start at $5,000 USD, not including tax, it makes one very expensive beach bag.

Even though the bags start at around $5,000, they can also reach 5-6 digit prices, especially when they are constructed from exotic animal skins.

Before you get out your check book, there is a waiting list for a Birkin, you may have to wait up to two years to own one.
