This Woman’s Work Lyrics
I should be hoping, but I can’t stop thinking
Of all the things I should’ve said, That I never said. All the things we should’ve done, That we never did. All the things I should’ve given, But I didn’t.
Oh, darling, make it go, Make it go away.
Give me these moments back. Give them back to me. Give me that little kiss. Give me your hand.
(I know you have a little life in you yet. I know you have a lot of strength left. I know you have a little life in you yet. I know you have a lot of strength left.)
I should be crying, but I just can’t let it show. I should be hoping, but I can’t stop thinking
Of all the things we should’ve said, That were never said. All the things we should’ve done, That we never did. All the things that you needed from me. All the things that you wanted for me. All the things that I should’ve given,But I didn’t.
Oh, darling, make it go awayJust make it go away now.

Nissan Recall 540K Vehicles Over Brake Pedal Problems
by wildcherry on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 | Uncategorized | No Comments
540,000 cars have been recalled by Nissan Motor over faulty brake pedal issues that may also affect the fuel gauge.
The brake-pin recall stems from “three reported instances of brake pedal pins partially disengaging, causing a loss of normal braking ability,” the company said. That recall involves the Nissan Titan, Armada, Quest andInfiniti QX56 of model years 2008 to 2010.
On its recall, Nissan said brake pedals on certain 2008-10 Titan pickups and Armada sport utility vehicles and some 2008 and 2009 Quest minivans can come loose and cause reduced braking force. No injuries or crashes have been reported. Customers with loose brake pedals should contact their dealers.
The Nissan recall covers “the Titan, Armada and Infiniti QX56 built from 2005 to 2008, and the Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra produced between January and March 2006 and between October 2007 and January 2008.” The brake pedals could have faulty components that can cause the pedals to wobble, AFP reported.
The move comes on the heels of Nissan recalling more than 70,00 vehicles in Japan over engine electric cables. The vast majority of vehicles, some 418,865, are U.S. models.
Nissan said the problem were caused by its suppliers.
Below is the list of car models recalled by Nissan for 2010:
1. Nissan Infiniti QX56
2. Nissan Quest
3. Nissan Armada
4. Nissan Titan

‘Move your Money’ Movements Spreading like Wildfire

Move Your Money – Moveyourmoney.Info – The “Move Your Money” campaign was featured on CBS Sunday Morning this week. Moving money to your local banks will create more opportunities for your local communities and many other benefits such as better customer service and more job opportunities for the minorities.
Hufftington Post’s Arianna appeared on the show to talk about why moving money out of big banks and into smaller banks is important:
“JP Morgan, Citi, Bank of America, Wells Fargo — these banks, that have received taxpayer money, that have been bailed out by the taxpayer, have not done their job at helping small businesses, at lending, so that the economy can start again, and start producing jobs.”
Students at American University, in Washington, D.C., want the school to move its money. They want the school to move its over $300 million endowment fund into localbanks that are better at lending to local business owners.
Their Responsible Endowments Coalition writes:
“AU students are campaigning for the university to transfer 5% of the cash assets from its endowment into CDFIs such as the City First Bank of DC . Totaling $4.3 million dollars, these investments would significantly impact low-income communities of color.”

Bomb Threat Cal State Northridge (CSUN) Evacuation Info
by wildcherry on Friday, February 5th, 2010 | Uncategorized | No Comments
A Cal State Northridge student’s fear that someone had planted a bomb in his car triggered a campus emergency today, prompting the evacuation of more than 100 people.
A male student reported around noon that he believed his car, parked in a lot on campus, had been rigged with a bomb, said Vance Peterson, vice president of university advancement.
“He said he is affiliated with a gang, and he fears retaliation from a rival gang,” Peterson said. “This is not an attack on the university.”
The Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad was dispatched to the scene.
As a precautionary measure, Peterson said university officials activated a mass communication emergency system to alert faculty, staff and students through phone calls, e-mails and text-messaging.
About 100 occupants of a nearby university preschool and dozens more at a lab facility were moved to other locations, Peterson said.

Details Info about Backdoor Taxes for Middle Class
by wildcherry on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 | Business, News, Uncategorized | No Comments
Latest update: The Feb 1 story headlined “Backdoor taxes to hit middle class” is wrong and has been withdrawn. The story said lower-income families will pay more under tax provisions scheduled to expire Dec 31. The Obama administration’s budget calls for the extension of those tax provisions for households earning less than $250,000. There will be no substitute story.
Here’s the complete inital news report from Reuters
The Obama administration’s plan to cut more than $1 trillion from the deficit over the next decade relies heavily on so-called backdoor tax increases that will result in a bigger tax bill for middle-class families.
In the 2010 budget tabled by President Barack Obama on Monday, the White House wants to let billions of dollars in tax breaks expire by the end of the year — effectively a tax hike by stealth.
While the administration is focusing its proposal on eliminating tax breaks for individuals who earn $250,000 a year or more, middle-class families will face a slew of these backdoor increases.
The targeted tax provisions were enacted under the Bush administration’s Economic Growth and Tax
Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001. Among other things, the law lowered individual tax rates, slashed taxes on capital gains and dividends, and steadily scaled back the estate tax to zero in 2010.
If the provisions are allowed to expire on December 31, the top-tier personal income tax rate will rise to 39.6 percent from 35 percent.
But lower-income families will pay more as well: the 25 percent tax bracket will revert back to 28 percent; the 28 percent bracket will increase to 31 percent; and the 33 percent bracket will increase to 36 percent. The special 10 percent bracket is eliminated.
Investors will pay more on their earnings next year as well, with the tax on dividends jumping to 39.6 percent from 15 percent and the capital-gains tax increasing to 20 percent from 15 percent. The estate tax is eliminated this year, but it will return in 2011 — though there has been talk about reinstating the death tax sooner.
Millions of middle-class households already may be facing higher taxes in 2010 because Congress has failed to extend tax breaks that expired on January 1, most notably a “patch” that limited the impact of the alternative minimum tax. The AMT, initially designed to prevent the very rich from avoiding income taxes, was never indexed for inflation. Now the tax is affecting millions of middle-income households, but lawmakers have been reluctant to repeal it because it has become a key source of revenue.
Without annual legislation to renew the patch this year, the AMT could affect an estimated 25 million taxpayers with incomes as low as $33,750 (or $45,000 for joint filers). Even if the patch is extended to last year’s levels, the tax will hit American families that can hardly be considered wealthy — the AMT exemption for 2009 was $46,700 for singles and $70,950 for married couples filing jointly.
Middle-class families also will find fewer tax breaks available to them in 2010 if other popular tax provisions are allowed to expire. Among them:
* Taxpayers who itemize will lose the option to deduct state sales-tax payments instead of state and local income taxes;
* The $250 teacher tax credit for classroom supplies;
* The tax deduction for up to $4,000 of college tuition and expenses;
* Individuals who don’t itemize will no longer be able to increase their standard deduction by up to $1,000 for property taxes paid;
* The first $2,400 of unemployment benefits are taxable, in 2009 that amount was tax-free
Rafael Nadal Australian Open 2010 ends in Quarter Final with Knee Injury
by wildcherry on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 | Uncategorized | No Comments
Defending champion Rafael Nadal retired from his quarterfinal against Andy Murray with a knee tendinitis, then predicted the Scottish player would end his Grand Slam title drought by winning the Australian Open.
“For Andy, I think he deserves to win his first Grand Slam. And I think he’s going to do it,” Nadal said after a right knee injury forced him to concede Tuesday’s quarterfinal while trailing 6-3, 7-6 (2), 3-0.
“There’s a very good chance for him. First thing, he’s playing very well,” Nadal said. “Second thing, he’s already in the semifinals. He’s only two matches away.”
Andy Roddick also went out of the Australian Open on Tuesday, struggling with a shoulder injury before going down in five sets to Marin Cilic.
Nadal said he didn’t want to risk more damage by playing and potentially having to spend long periods off the tour with knee tendinitis.
“Similar thing that I had last year,” Nadal said of the pain. “It was impossible to win the match.”
Nadal struggled with knee tendinitis and was unable to defend his Wimbledon title last season after beating Roger Federer in the Australian Open final. He received on-court treatment from a trainer for his knee after losing the second set.
