Wife of multi-millionaire TV Evangelist Benny Hinn filed for divorce after 30 years of marriage

Suzanne Hinn, the wife of a multi-millionaire TV Evangelist / high-profile pastor Benny Hinn, has filed for divorce after 30 years of marriage.
The divorce papers were filed in Orange County, California Superior Court on Feb. 1, and stated the couple had been separated since January 26th. The divorce papers noted that Benny Hinn had moved out of the couple’s marital home and was living in nearby Dana Point, an enclave for the wealthy and elite.
Hinn married the former Suzanne Harthern on 4 August 1979. Harthern filed papers in Orange County (CA) Superior Court on 1 February 2010 seeking a divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences“. The couple has four children.
Hinn is one of the best known advocates of the prosperity gospel, which teaches that Christians who are right with God will be rewarded with wealth and health in this lifetime.
His TV broadcasts on the Trinity Broadcast Network, a Pentecostal broadcasting juggernaut, and other TV networks are seen by millions of people around the world nearly every day. He travels the globe in his ministry’s plane, named Dove One, holding events he calls “Miracle Crusades” that include spiritual healings.
Hinn has never fully publicly disclosed how he spends the money he raises, but his vast ministry is believed to be a multimillion-dollar operation. There was no mention of finances in the court filing, which listed three recent Southern California addresses for the family.
“It will be devastating to the people who have supported Benny Hinn’s evangelistic work around the world,” Grady said.

Vatican’s Beliefs on Aliens
by nate on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 | Knowledge, News, World | No Comments
Four hundred years after it locked up Galileo for challenging the view that the Earth was the center of the universe, the Vatican has called in experts to study the possibility of extraterrestrial alien life and its implication for the Catholic Church.
“As an astronomer I continue to believe that God is the creator of the universe,” Jose Gabriel Funes said in an interview with the Vatican mouthpiece, the Osservatore Romano
Asked about the difficult theological question, Funes said: “If other intelligent beings exist, it’s not certain that they need redemption.”
“How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere. Just as we consider earthly creatures as ‘a brother’, and ’sister’, why should we not talk about an ‘extraterrestrial brother’? It would still be part of creation”, said Funes adding that God created all the creatures of the universe, so believing that aliens exist doesn’t interfere with the faith in God.
“The church has somehow recognized its mistakes. Maybe it could have done it better, but now it’s time to heal those wounds and this can be done through calm dialogue and collaboration”, said Funes. The beginning of the reconciliation between church and science began in 1992 with Pope John Paul’s declaration saying that Galileo’s trial was a “tragic mutual incomprehension”.
The Vatican Observatory has also been at the forefront of efforts to bridge the gap between religion and science. Its scientist-clerics have generated top-notch research and its meteorite collection is considered one of the world’s best.
Light and Salt Ministry on ABC’s Makeovers

Nathan Montgomery left a comfortable engineering job at Alloy Casting to start Salt & Light Ministry, an organization which relies completely on donations to provide goods and supplies to those in need.
On August 18, 2009, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the landscape of Salt & Light was forever altered. “GOOD MORNING MONTGOMERY FAMILY!” echoed off of the warehouse walls from Ty Pennington’s megaphone to our ears. We could scarcely imagine how transfixed our community would be as Extreme Makeover Home Edition walked into our lives. Little could we fathom the impact that Extreme Makeover Home Edition would have on Salt & Light, the ministry we have devoted ourselves to over the past six years.
Everything that was done for Salt & Light during that week was a tremendous blessing, and we can never thank everyone enough for their involvement. Probably the more lasting effect, though, is the awareness that was created in our community about the work that we do, and the ways in which people can partner with us in that work. We could have spent decades laboring in our neighborhoods and still not created the level of awareness that now exists as the product of one extraordinary week. For this increased exposure we are forever grateful!
