The animal appeared dead but rose up and attacked the man
When the Hunter Becomes The Hunted..
Randy Goodman, 47, of Sedalia, is seen with the buck that injured him Nov. 16. Goodman shot the deer twice, but it did not go gently into the night. The buck attacked Goodman, cutting his head, before he finally finished the job. (http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/dec/02/wounded-deer-attacks-hunter-who-shot-him/)
In Missouri, Randy Goodman (49 years old), thought he placed two shots with his .270 caliber rifle and killed the buck on Nov 19. The animal appeared dead but seconds later, the 240-pound deer came to life.
The buck rose up, knocked Goodman down and attacked him with his antlers in what the veteran hunter called “15 seconds of hell.” The deer ran a short distance and went down, and died after Goodman fired two more shots.
The animal then attempted to flee the scene but the hunter was able to recover and this time shot it twice, after which it really was dead.
After the incident, 49-year-old Goodman drove himself to hospital and received seven stitches to his head.
I’ve seen this video a while back but this is a separate incident though; which means there has been NOT JUST ONE, but more than one incidents where the animal attacked the hunter back.
