Unusual Marriage… such a True Love

by nate on Monday, October 19th, 2009 | Friendship, Love, Love Poems, Love Story, Relationship | 6 Comments

I received this on my email, I can’t validate its honesty of the story, but what I am about to share is that I’m amazed of what the couple did…

The girl in the picture is Katie Kirkpatrick, she is 21 . Next to her, her fiance, Nick, 23.

The picture was taken shortly before their wedding ceremony, held on January 11, 2005 in the US .

Katie has terminal cancer and spend hours a day receiving medication.

In the picture, Nick is waiting for her on one of the many sessions of chemo to end.

In spite of all the pain, organ failures, and morphine shots, Katie is going along with her wedding and took care

of every detail. The dress had to be adjusted a few times due to her constant weight loss

An unusual accessory at the party was the oxygen tube that ketie used throughout the ceremony and reception as well.

The other couple in the picture are Nick’s parents. Excited to see her son marrying his high school sweetheart.

Katie, in her wheelchair with the oxygen tube , listening a song from her husband and friends

At the reception, katie had to take a few rests. The pain do not let her to be standing up for long periods

Katie died five days after her wedding day. Watching a women so ill and weak getting married and with a smile on her face makes us think….. Happiness is reachable, no matter how long it last. We should stop making our lives complicated.

Life is short

Break the rules

forgive quickly

kiss passionately, love truly

laugh constantly

And never stop smiling

no matter how strange life is

Life is not always the party we expected to be

but as long as we are here, we should smile and be grateful.

I Pronounce You “Husband & Wife”

by echandr on Sunday, October 5th, 2008 | Family, Love, Relationship | 5 Comments

The sanctity of marriage starts with the pronouncement of husband and wife - ’till death do us part’. Many believe the vow will tie the knot for many years to come till one parts the world.

Recently a friend of mine metaphors his marriage like a “castle-like prison”. From the outside, most singles rush themselves into the castle; and from the inside, lots of couples make every efforts to break out of the prison. What an irony?

When you’re pronounced husband and wife, and you already said “I do”, that means you have to take your spouse for poor or better and in sickness or health, till death separates you. That also means life time commitment.

When you get married, you have to give up some of your preferences and yet have to take some you might not very fond of. But well, it’s the choice you made. You win some, you lose some. That’s how marriage works, right?

Marriage is the union of two different creatures. One is from Mars and the one is from Venus. When two come together in a shell, zillions of things may crash, but yet many possibilities may materialize into beautiful things. That’s the beauty of the unknown and the unexpected.

Just for the sideline, would you think it would be better when you’re pronounced “husband and wives”? It’s gonna give you possibilities beyond imagination, right? But well, be careful with what you wish for. The end of the “Berbagi Suami” shows the deepest regret of a husband with more than one wife. He said within his last breath, if there is a single thing in his life he could have a do-over, he would have just one.

Holy Matrimony on the Air

by nate on Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 | Love | 3 Comments

On August 5, Darren Mc Walters (24), and Katie Hodgson (23) did a very courageous acts and declaration of their faith on the air. They stood on top of the planes’ wings while the priest led them into the holy matrimony process. Argh, so pricey… but romantic and unforgettable… wish the best for both of them.
